Lisa Jones, owner of Pigeon Toe, contacted Cupolette with the hope of developing a line of unique metal components for Pigeon Toe’s product line. The first iteration is a small bronze handle for this hand-thrown butter dish.
After receiving the initial design from Pigeon Toe, Cupolette created several prototypes. To give an array of options, some were hand-built in wax and lost-wax cast, and others were machined, using CNC, from existing metal stock.
After deciding on the hand-built bronze sample, Cupolette collaborated with Pigeon Toe to ensure an efficient, elegant method of attaching the bronze element to the ceramic.
With the prototype approved, Cupolette will now begin full-scale production of the piece.
